Blending and Type Photos

Blending:

1. Adam's Ducks
For this picture I blended the bottom two photos. I used the texture of my fretboard on my guitar as the background. I wanted it to look more vintage. I had to do multiple layers because I wanted to avoid the white circles and too heavy of lines. I ended up cropping the frets in little sections and tiled it for the texture effect. I didnt want to make it seem like an actual fret board, just the rough effect.I did a light overlay and turned the opacity down to about 50%. Then I sharpened the entire image. I adjusted the levels and masked out Adam so he would not have the texture overlay. Then I added a burn effect around the edges and added some type. Befluffed is a word Adam made up, and it seemed to fit the moment. Font: Hand of Sean

2. Adorable
I took this picture at PizzaPieCafe on an off chance because my roommate Merinda looked so adorable to me. I cropped the photo to my liking and adjusted the levels slightly. Then I used the title overlay tutorial for the text and made multiple layers with them. I used the overlay to blend them together and a mask to make the large adorable the most prominent. I added a black canvas to it because I liked the way it looked like a frame that captured the moment, and it matched her outfit. Font: Hand of Sean

  1. I like the "adorable" picture and what you did with the text. The gradient fill on the text looks great, and its neat to see the words drawn, rather than just using a font. You took a rather plain snapshot and made it interesting. The "befluffed" picture is great too and the edits and texture really made photograph pop. And I like the word "befluffed," haha. It's very fitting for the picture.

  2. I absolutely love your edited photographs. That was really creative to use the texture of your guitar to give the edited photo a more rustic feel. I think that you had a perfect amount of opacity and the border is great. I also think your choice for pink for the color study was great. You had a wide variety of things that were hot pink. Great job!
